January 2025

Video of the month: Lydia and Charles lead travelling stillness through our Rock and Bird themed activity… A part of our 5 Rhythms session this week. Wonderful to see Charles, who visits us time to time, all the way from Gibraltar πŸ’—

We are at the beginning of 2025, and it all feels very exciting. Our weekly dance sessions are going really well. Since November 2024, we have begun a series of training courses for people to become Dance Leaders for Echo Performing Arts. We are currently building skills in Dance Leadership, by developing a Creative Leadership Team, and offering opportunities to our trained dance leaders to become a part of our team in running dance projects.

With thanks to Chalk Cliff Trust, we have funding to provide 8 workshops in the Community, and our Leaders will be able to be paid for this work. More importantly, they will be central to the planning, leading and evaluations of these workshops.

Our Leaders have been learning a lot through their training, we are so excited to begin leading in the community.

The Far Far Away Musical had an exciting December 2024, and many festive and social experiences. We had Rainboy come to visit us and teach Steps routines – it was awesome! And then we had Vanessa from Rhymenshine. We did a Christmas singing session, and it was simply wonderful 😊 and finally finished the year with some fantastic solos.

Ella, Nicole, Sarah and Lydia performed together for the group at Christmas πŸŽ„this was Ella’s choice of song, to Snowman by Sia.

Jazz Hands Dance finished last year with some seriously magical solos and small group work. We were in awe of everyone. We have been working through 2025 on exploring game shows, talent contests as our own “Jazz Hands has Talent”. We have also been exploring 5 Rhythms.

We have new projects coming soon, watch this space for more exciting opportunities, and wonderful performances ☺️
